Check if your van is about to cost you a daily charge on this job.

For tradespeople driving into London ULEZ, Birmingham, Bath, Bristol, Manchester and other Clean Air Zones. Covers emissions bands and the daily rates that actually apply.

    Sound familiar?

    • “I've just priced a job in central London and I've no idea if my van triggers ULEZ.”
    • “I thought my van was compliant and I've just had a PCN.”
    • “Some zones charge non-compliant vans, some also charge cars. I can't keep it straight.”
    • “I'm in and out of Birmingham CAZ twice a week. Is there a weekly cap?”

    What this tool does

Takes your van registration or Euro band and the zone you're entering, and tells you whether you'll be charged, the daily rate, and any exemptions that might apply.

    Important

    • This is an estimate based on typical UK registration data. Always confirm using your registration with the official zone checker.
    • Vehicles registered in boundary years (e.g. mid-2016) may be either Euro 5 or Euro 6 — check your V5C logbook or the DVLA vehicle checker.

    What the law actually says

    • London ULEZ operates 24/7 and covers all London boroughs. Birmingham, Bristol, Sheffield, Bath and Portsmouth operate Clean Air Zones with varying rules on who is charged.
    • Charges apply per calendar day, not per trip. Multiple trips into a zone on the same day attract a single charge.
    • Non-payment leads to a PCN (up to £180 ULEZ, varies by CAZ). Unpaid PCNs escalate.
