    How to Report

    Phone 0345 300 9923 (Mon–Fri 8:30–17:00) — fatalities and specified injuries
    Online hse.gov.uk/riddor
    Out of hours (fatalities) 0345 300 9923 — duty officer

    Who reports? The employer, self-employed person, or person in control of the premises.

    Key Points

    • Keep records for at least 3 years
    • Includes injuries to members of the public taken to hospital from your work activity
    • "Over 7 days" means 7 consecutive days — not including the day of the accident
    • If in doubt, report it — you cannot be penalised for reporting
